One Simple Rule Our Schools will Never Teach Our Children

This is copied and pasted directly from The Survival Podcast. Nothing more needs to be said that isn’t said by the author, Jack Spirko:

The one rule we should teach at the core of all ethics in our schools but never will is called the Non-Aggression Principle (or NAP).  The non-aggression principle is simply an ethical stance that asserts that aggression is inherently wrong. In this context, “aggression” is defined as initiating or threatening any forcible interference with an individual or individual’s property.

To put it simply I have no right to use force, violence or coercion on you to make you do what I want you to do or to take your rightful property.  My one true obligation to you as a fellow human being is to leave you alone to peacefully pursue happiness so long as you follow that same rule with myself and others.

I would like you to consider that if we taught that to our children we don’t really have to worry about so many issues others seem worried about constantly.

  • But what about gay kids?
Answer- The NAP applies to all people.
  • But what about people of color?
Answer- The NAP applies to all people.
  • But what about ____?
Answer- The NAP applies to all people.

The NAP is the modern golden rule, JUST ONE RULE that if followed would eliminate every single crime (given that any real crime must have a victim) on the planet.

One simple rule that offers perfect and total respect to every person, no matter their color, gender, religion, etc. One simple rule that is at the core of most religions but yet remains universal to all of humanity. From the atheist to the devote theist anyone who is honest with themselves can understand the NAP is how we should treat each other.

One simple rule that allows people to form groups around any idea, theology, concept, etc. yet compels no one to join them or follow along.  Each man, women and child free to pursue their dreams, in their own way, with one and only one requirement, respect this in all other individuals.

Let’s look at dealing with a hot button issue in schools, bullying if we teach the NAP as the core of ethics in school.  Let’s say a teacher catches Johnny and Mike picking on Mark.  The entire corrective action is “Johnny you and Mike are violating Mark’s rights, stop it”.

You think that is an over simplification?  Children generally accept concrete reasons for things a hell of a lot better than something abstract.  Additionally there is power in any social situation, no one wants to be the bad guy, save for the small portion of society that are actual sociopaths.  When you have one sacred rule, “you do not interfere with the property and freedoms of anyone so long as they do the same” and that is taught as a core ethic, everything is abundantly clear to everyone.

So why won’t we teach this in our schools?  We can’t, because the entire institution that is the state and thereby the state run school system is, in and of itself, a constant violation of the NAP.

School itself is compulsory with parents threatened with jail time over truancy and worse.  School itself is paid for taxes that are taken against the will of those paying them, and the state will absolutely use force, violence and coercion to collect said taxes, etc.  Many times a child being bullied (having their right to the NAP violated) will want to change schools but can’t do so because of school district rules.  This is insane but it is the way we have allowed the system to be.

Some of you reading this right now are having the typical reaction and thinking, “but with out taxes how would we build roads and schools”, etc.  There are many answers to such questions, but we are NOT going to have to solve that problem any time soon.  So can I ask you to put these concerns on the shelf just for now, and get though the last bits here today, please?

I simply want to ask you, does the NAP on its own make sense to you?  Does it feel right that I do not have the right to use violence, force or coercion to compel you to make the choices I want you to or to take your property from you?  Great then let me ask you if you also agree with this statement, “all men (people) are created equal”?

Likely that statement is written into the core of your being, it is part of our Declaration of Independence isn’t it?  Democrats, republicans, libertarians, political atheists, etc. all tend to agree with this statement of fact.  And the reason is clear, it is a statement of fact, not opinion.  Equality here of course applying to rights, freedoms and the freedom to pursue happiness, not equality of ability in any particular area.

So if all men are created equal and I do not have the right to use violence, force or cohesion to compel you to make the choices I want you to or to take your property from you, who does?

What you are dealing with right now is some level of cognitive dissonance, looking back at that shelf where we put the “but how can we _____” issues.  Please let it go, just for today, it will still be there tomorrow, I promise you.    I do want to point out that the reason you feel this conflict at this point is due to the fact that in your heart you know that these are fundamental truths.

So what do you do now, accept the truth, speak the truth and teach it to others.  Above all we need to teach this one fundamental set of truths to our children.

Right now with the recent school shooting in Florida all political arguments seem focused on guns.  I however recently looked at this question differently, I simply asked, how many of our children of school age are choosing death over life.  Not just those that harm others but those that simply choose to end their own life.

What I am about to give you are facts with rounded off numbers to avoid arguments over exact numbers.  But again these numbers are facts, not opinions.

In the last ten years for all the claims that “children are being gunned down daily”, less that 220 people have died in school shootings.  This number includes adults and the shooters themselves.

In the same period of time, 54,000+ children chose to take their own lives.

Oh don’t you dare gloss over that number, it hurts, I know, but let it hit you like the hammer of reality it is, read it one more time and really take in in.

In the same period of time, 54,000+ children chose to take their own lives.

I keep hearing words like “political will”, “the time to take action”, “put armed guards in schools” and of course, “think of the children”.  Yet I wonder why no single politician, activist or member of the media has told you what I just did.  That while the death of a few hundred is tragic the death of 10s of thousands in the same period of time is more so.

Do you really think these two groups are unrelated?  Do you really think every school shooter is just an unbalanced sociopath who was sooner or later going to commit acts of murder no matter what anyone did?  Or is it more likely that in most instances these shooters chose a sick and twisted form of suicide by cop?  Given this recent shooting was one of the very few times we ended up with a mass shooter in custody, don’t you think saying these murders are also suicide by cop seems pretty accurate?

So knowing that 54,000 other students took their own lives, it is really shocking that say if you have 500 people pushed to the point of being willing to take their own lives, that one in 500 might try to take others with them, perhaps those they blame for their pain?

Now this is hard to face isn’t it?  Much easier to blame bad parents, video games, guns, drugs, anything but ourselves for these problems isn’t it?  As long as it is a thing, that is apart from us, we can be sad that so many died but we can be comfortable that it is someone else’s or something else’s fault.

Yet if we taught children the principle of non-aggression and enforced that one rule in our schools, how many of those tens of thousands of people might still be alive today?  The principle of non-aggression and the concept that all men are created equal are truths, I simply feel it is time for our nation to grow up and have a conversation about these inherent truths.

It won’t be easy, but the truth is never easy, it is however, always, dramatically simple.

Does the federal government want less murder or more control?

Here’s a comment I shared on facebook as people were discussing this latest murder spree and demanding ‘something must be done’:

[Let’s] Look at the guy who shot up that church in Texas: He was DISHONORABLY discharged from the air force. People who are dishonorably discharged are not permitted to purchase or possess firearms. Why was he able to? Because the federal government didn’t make a SIMPLE database entry. That entry of a few key strokes. The federal government didn’t care enough to prevent this person from owning a firearm.

He also had been convicted of domestic abuse. Those so convicted, are not permitted to possess firearms. Why was he able to? Because again, government did NOT make a simple database entry.

Look at the kid that shot up this school. How many times had he been IN THEIR HANDS? Conservative estimate is about 30 TIMES. What did they do? Nothing. THE FBI was notified that “he planned a shooting in January”. What did the FBI do to prevent it? Nothing.

The guy who shot up the night club in Orlando was in FBI CUSTODY THREE TIMES before he shot the place up. What did they do to prevent it? Nothing.

How many people LIE on firearms purchase forms? Between 2008 and 2015 there was found to be over 550,000 people who LIED on their purchase paperwork. This is not only a federal felony, but a HUGE red flag that a criminal is trying to get a gun. You would think that this government would leap into action and arrest them all; especially given the administration in office at that time expressed GREAT concern for ‘the dangers of firearms’… Only 254 of the 550,000 were even CONSIDERED for prosecution.

Now let’s look at the school that was shot up.  How well protected are schools? Well, to be honest, schools are kill boxes. A place where children are forced to go, where there is NO security in most cases. Certainly no one suited to defend against any armed assailant. Who are the heroes in these situations? People who simply put themselves between the killer and the child they were trying to kill. While this is certainly noble, it’s not defense. Defense stops a threat. There is NOTHING to stop a threat in a school.

Why is that? The federal government has declared that schools are ‘gun free zones’. As I hope most intelligent people have picked up on by now, ‘gun free zone’ means “only criminals may possess firearms”.

So let’s review: The federal government forces children to go schools that they bar anyone other than police from carrying a defensive firearm in. When that same federal government, the one that warns us about the dangers of firearms, finds out a criminal tried to possess a firearm they do NOTHING 99.96% of the time. When they later investigate one of those people on other crimes or conditions they do nothing. When they are WARNED that someone is ABOUT to murder people, they do nothing.

Then when one of the people they did NOTHING about murders a bunch of people, this government says that you need to allow them MORE (unconstitutional) power to keep you safe.

The Real Truth about School Shootings – Most are a form of Suicide

From Jack Spirko at The Survival Podcast.

Why are TENS of THOUSANDS of children killing themselves and others?
Lets ask questions that are worth answering, and that might actually lead to a solution.

The GOP is committed to their own demise

After seeing an article shared by the Keystone Cannabis Coalition noting how NONE of the republican candidates for governor of Pennsylvania are in favor of ending cannabis prohibition, despite the republican marketing that talks about individual rights, and mocks The Constitution by feigning adherence to it.

So, no insult to dinosaurs, but if the GOP is committed to begin dinosaurs, then they need a new logo… So here it go:

Blame the Supreme Court for Letting the Feds Target Legal State Pot

The awful precedents that helped empower Attorney General Jeff Sessions

Source: Blame the Supreme Court for Letting the Feds Target Legal State Pot

This is an insightful article. Pointed specifically at the actions around cannabis, but it speaks specifically about when the so called ‘supreme court’ stopped obeying The Constitution.

It seems that in 1942 a farmer disobeyed federal orders on how much weat they were permitting him to grow. Since the federal government has no authority to declare how much an individual my grow for their own use, he stood up to them and eventually the so called ‘supreme court’ declared that the federal government had authority over ANYTHING that might have an ‘economic effect’ on interstate commerce.

This case was nothing more than bullying an individual like someone on the schoolhouse yard: Everyone watching KNEW they had no right to do it, but they did it violently enough that nobody else stood up to them.

At this point we have fallen so far that congressmen blithely declare “90% of what we do isn’t authorized by The Constitution” without concern for any accountability whatsoever.

The ONLY solution is for The People and The States to DEMAND The Constitution be obeyed.

Did Jeff Sessions Just Increase the Odds Congress Will Make Marijuana Legal?

The attorney general has created intolerable uncertainty for a growing industry that is now demanding legal protections from Congress. And lawmakers are listening.

Source: Did Jeff Sessions Just Increase the Odds Congress Will Make Marijuana Legal?

I think he did.

The thing that nobody really wants to talk about is that all sessions is doing is his job: cannabis is illegal, his job is to enforce the law. So that is what it is.
But enforcing that law, when my local paper, and many other ‘small town’ papers are writing positive articles about cannabis (something UNHEARD of even a decade ago), and with a population of average people who’ve ‘outrun the propaganda’ long enough to KNOW the truth about cannabis, can only force the actions of Congress, if they do their damned job finally, or The States, or if this goes on much longer, The People.
Of course, its interesting with all the members of congress I’ve heard talking about cannabis since last Monday, only ONE (Justin Amash) even MENTIONED that federal prohibition is unconstitutional. This means that the members of congress by and large still want to resolve this without a ‘constitutional crisis’, because neither ‘side’ (the R’s nor the D’s) even REMOTELY obeys The Constitution or wants to. As soon as we’re enforcing The Constitution, jeff sessions job doesn’t even EXIST any more.
So the result is we have members of congress who are angry and demanding the attorney general NOT do his job, rather than (finally) demand that this government be constrained by The Constitution as it is supposed to be every day.
Again, the VAST majority of problems in the uS are the result of the federal government running rampant and ignoring The Constitution which is there to constrain its powers and actions.
Oh, and it’s nice to hear some D’s finally talking about ‘states rights’. Though until they bring up the constitutional question, this simply ISN’T a states rights issue. If the prohibition of cannabis were constitutional, they would have no ‘states rights’ argument. As it stand though, The States have a DUTY do declare this prohibition so, and oppose it at every level and at every opportunity.

U.S. Supreme Court to hear case of Florida couple’s treehouse

Lynn Tran and Richard Hazen built a Florida beachfront treehouse that would be the envy of any child. It’s got two levels, hammocks and windows looking out on the Gulf of Mexico.

“the justices, who only hear argument in about 80 of the thousands of cases they’re asked to take each year.”
That’s the phrase that catches me. I’m not shocked by the fact that the local government, that steals these peoples money every day, wants to tell them what they can do with their own damn property.
But what the hell does the so called ‘supreme court’ do?!?! They get over $200,000.00 of YOUR money every year to hear 80 cases!??!?! All the injustice? All the blatant VIOLATIONS of The Constitution, and these people only hear 80 cases a YEAR!?!? What are they doing the rest of the time?!?!
Well, apparently they’re making tens of thousands more from the book deals, and speaking gigs that keep them from doing their damned jobs.

Political Welfare

Source: 79 Members Of Congress Have Been In Office For At Least 20 Years | Zero Hedge

In one of the most popular bifurcations in our society, we are some of us told to bitch about ‘social welfare’, the others of us to bitch about ‘corporate welfare’ yet we never seem to consider the system of POLITICAL welfare that is really destroying our nation and government.

Orrin Hatch, of Utah has been on political welfare since 1977, Senator Harry Reid of Nevada has been on political welfare since 1987. John Boehner of Ohio has been on political welfare since 1991. Congressman John Conyers, Jr. was on political welfare since TWO YEARS BEFORE I WAS EVEN BORN (all the while sexually harassing women that worked for him).

But don’t worry about him, despite sexually harassing women for years, he’ll CONTINUE to be on political welfare for the rest of his life. Just like EVERY other person in congress. Conyers for example will collect at LEAST $140,000.00 EVERY YEAR for the rest of his life. YOU will be paying him, for doing NOTHING for the rest of his life.

Meanwhile, the ones with D’s after their names tell you that you should be mad at evil corporations that (THEY VOTED TO) get millions of your money, and the ones with R’s after their names tell you to be mad at poor people who (THEY VOTED TO) get to live off everyone else’s labor. And the VAST majority of people in the united States happily obey.

For the love of God, wake up. Stop believing the inane bullshit that your politicians tell you. Stop bitching about the people getting money from government and start bitching at, and demanding accountability for the people GIVING THEM your money.

The state of the States

So I got an email from a cannabis related group about  ‘the state of marijuana in the world today’. They note:

“This year, Canada, South Africa, and Brazil joined the list of marijuana-friendly countries. The United States, unfortunately, is still divided.”

Of course, I had to jump right on this. They unknowingly, of course, hit right on the problem:

The United States isn’t divided, the united States ARE divided. And the united States are SUPPOSED to be divided.

With the despicable Jeff Sessions now declaring he will violate the sovereign rights of individuals in these States who consume, cultivate or distribute cannabis, it will only become MORE divided.

The time has come for these States to STAND. California; you steal more money from your people in the form of taxes than most other states, it’s time to spend that money DEFENDING your people. You want to assert your authority under the tenth amendment?

Then assert it:

Step one, give NO aid or assistance to ANY federal agents.
Step two, ARREST ANY federal agent who tries to kidnap one of your citizens who are engaging in activity that is legal in your state.
Step three, CLEARLY declare federal prohibition as unconstitutional.
Step four, if the feds threaten to cut ‘funding’ to your state, STOP SENDING YOUR PEOPLES MONEY to the feds.

These state whore politicians have FAR too long allowed the feds to manipulate them by bribing them with money they stole from The People of their state.  That needs to end. We can’t ‘vote the bums out’ of DC, that has never worked and never will, the only thing we can do is enforce The Constitution.

The States are the only possible way it can be done without actual violent revolution.

So what is the fourth of July? Is it the day we celebrate our freedom? No, because we’re not free.

‘Of course we’re free; this is the freest nation on earth’.

Yea, that’s a slogan.

Let’s keep this simple, when someone works and they don’t get the money or product of their labor, but rather it goes to someone else that is called slavery. When you work and government takes 40% of your income, you call that ‘the freest nation on earth’, and that is completely irrational.

‘But we’re better off than many countries’! OK. But have you read our Constitution? The Constitution tells government the FEW things they are permitted to do or engage in.

NOWHERE does it say, for example, that government can steal your money and give it to foreign nations. In 2015 ‘your’ government gave away $35,000,000,000.00 of your money to foreign nations.

Nowhere does it say that government has a DAMNED thing to do with your medical care.

Nowhere does it say that government has any authority over farming or any other industry.

Still feel ‘free’?

But that’s just the federal government. Let’s get more local.

You want to build a shed on your property so you just do it right? Oh, you have to go to government and ask permission to build the shed? You have to PAY them to get that permission? But at least it’s government so magically somehow it’s NOT ‘extortion’.

OK, so you can’t do what you want with your own damn property, but that’s OK, at least you have your property right? Hmm, where I live, government demands I pay them thousands of dollars every year in order to KEEP my property. They call it ‘property tax’, but if I don’t pay them they take my property. I have to give them this EVERY YEAR. I will NEVER own my own property because of government.

Still feel free.

“But we’re freer than so many other nations’.

Many of those nations have slavery ‘written into’ their constitution. Again, have you read ours? To have such beauty and freedom enshrined, and to have the corrupt criminal government, and cowardly enslaved populous we have is like having Secretariat pulling a plow. Like shaving Pavarotti sing nursery rhymes. Both are OK things, but they are capable of much more perfection.

Same in the case of the united States of America, except if Pavarotti WANT’S to sing nursery rhymes, that’s none of my business. In the case of The Constitution and ‘our’ government it is THE LAW that constrains them. It is what says “you are a valid government of the united States as long as you obey this Constitution”.

We currently have no valid federal government, nor do we have a free populous.

Sorry for the bad news. It’s the fifth now anyway, just go back to sleep.
