Senate lets NSA spy program lapse, at least for now – Yahoo News Canada

By Patricia Zengerle and Warren Strobel WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The legal authority for U.S. spy agencies’ collection of Americans’ phone records and other data expired at midnight on Sunday after the Senate failed to pass legislation extending their powers.

So, the program that they said was authorized by the so called ‘patriot act’, which was found by federal court NOT to have been authorized, and thereby illegal, which was NOT shut down when it was found to be illegal, which NO ONE was PROSECUTED over when they were found to be breaking the law, has now suddenly STOPPED because the law that NEVER authorized it to begin with has expired??? Right.
