Shipping overload leaves many Christmas giftless – MarketWatch

“On Christmas Eve, Brandon Scott was still waiting for a 46-inch Samsung TV and Kate Spade watch he ordered from Amazon on Saturday.”

Really? Of all the things we need to prepare for, that we often have genuine difficulty preparing for, there are people who can’t prepare for CHRISTMAS!??! Didn’t see that one coming before SATURDAY? Didn’t know about Amazon before Saturday?!

We’re not talking about someone who wasn’t financially prepared for Christmas, he ordered a 46-inch Samsung TV and a Kate Spade watch. No, it looks like simply a case of someone, or a lot of someones, counting on the best case scenario. We can’t do that people. At Christmas it ends with a sad gift recipient, any other situation if can end a lot worse. What should we be prepared for? Job loss? Inflation? Blizzard? Other natural disasters? Power outage? Failures of other systems of support?

We don’t currently live in a world where we can count on the best case scenario. Lets get started preparing for the little things and the bigger things alike. If we can’t survive Christmas, we’re not going to survive hardship when and however it comes.
